Competition 2012
Machine Knitters are invited to participate in the 2012 Machine Knitting
Challenge. There are four categories for individuals:
- Garment of your own design: either male or female, to fit adult child
or baby, can be a single garment, or two or more piece outfit. The best
entry in the Judges' opinion will be awarded the GMK Award.
- Garment based on your favourite pattern: either male or female, to
fit adult, child or baby, can be a single garment or two or more piece
outfit. The best entry in the Judges' opinion will be awarded the Fiskerton
Cup.
- Accessories: 80% of which to be machine knitted, bags, hats, gloves,
jewellery etc. The best entry in the Judges' opinion will be awarded
the Silver Cup.
- Open Category: Non-wearable, flight of fancy, fabric flair, machine
knitted art. Entries should be at least 75% machine knitted. The best
entry in the Judges' opinion will be awarded the Alison Lee Cup.
The Creativity Cup will be awarded to a member of the Guild of Machine
Knitters, who has entered any of the categories above and used 3 or more
of the techniques from a given list.

Groups of five or more knitters working together are invited to participate
in the challenge for the Sherborne Vase. The theme for this challenge
is "Going for Gold". Download full details and the entry

Closing date for submission of all entries is Friday 4th May 2012. Entries
will be returned* after the 2012 AGM.
